Dr Tracy Cook
Dr Cook obtained her MBChB degree from the University of Cape Town in 2008. After completing her internship and community service, she went on to work as a medical officer at various emergency departments in public and private practice, with a special interest in trauma related admissions. In 2015/2016 Dr Cook worked in clinical research focusing on MDR-TB and XDR-TB drug trials, and thereafter returned to emergency medicine work. In 2018, Dr Cook joined the Forensic Department as a registrar and obtained her diploma in Forensic Medicine (Dip For Med(SA) Path) in 2019. She is currently completing her specialist training and MMED (Forensic Pathology) in the Division of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. Her research topic is ‘A retrospective analysis of unnatural deaths in children aged 0-17 years in the West Metropole of the City of Cape Town from 2014 to 2019’.
